How CCB & Co. and the site at ccbync.com handle the little information they hold about you. Last updated September 24, 2026.

Who this covers

This page applies to visitors of ccbync.com, the website of CCB & Co., a letterpress shop in Asheville, North Carolina. It describes what the site collects, what it does not, and how to reach us about any of it. The only address for questions is [email protected].

What the proof request form collects

The form on the proof page asks for your name, your email address, what you would like printed, roughly how many, the ink and paper you have in mind, and a message. Those fields exist so that the first reply can be useful rather than a list of questions. When you press send, the form is delivered to our mailbox by FormSubmit, a form-to-email relay; the relay receives the contents in order to email them to us and is not used by us for anything else. We read the message, reply from the shop mailbox, and keep the thread for as long as the job it relates to runs, plus a short while afterward in case of a reprint. A message about a job we do not take is deleted once we have replied.

The form also carries one empty field that people cannot see. Automated senders tend to fill it in, and a message with that field filled is discarded before it reaches us.

A postal address, later

A proof travels by post, so at some point after the first reply we ask for a postal address. It is used to send the proof and the finished work and for nothing else. It is not added to any list.

Cookies and the consent notice

On your first visit a small notice appears in the corner of the page. Choosing either option on it writes a single preference into your browser's local storage under the key ccb_consent_v1, so that the notice does not return. That preference is the only thing this site stores on your device. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to us, and no part of the site reads it apart from the notice itself.

The notice offers a switch for analytics and performance measurement. At present nothing of that kind is installed on ccbync.com: there is no analytics script, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no third-party embed apart from the type served by Google Fonts. Turning the switch on records your choice and changes nothing else today. If we ever add measurement, it will run only for visitors who turned that switch on, and this page will be updated first.

Type served by Google Fonts

The two typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from that service directly, and in doing so shares your IP address with it as part of the ordinary mechanics of fetching a file. We receive nothing from that request.

Server logs

The web host that serves ccbync.com keeps ordinary access logs, which record the address a page was requested from, the page, the time, and the browser used. We look at them only to keep the site working.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or trade any information about you. We do not send a newsletter or marketing mail, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from. We do not build profiles, and we do not share your details with anyone except the postal carrier that delivers your proof and the form relay that delivers your message.

Your rights

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with similar law, you may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, ask for a copy in a form you can take elsewhere, and object to its use. If you live in California, you may ask what we have collected, ask for it to be deleted, and you will not be treated differently for asking; we do not sell personal information, so there is no sale to opt out of. Wherever you live, write to [email protected] and we will answer within a month, usually much sooner, and act on the request unless the law requires us to keep something.

Children

The site is for adults ordering printed stationery, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us a message, write to the mailbox and it will be deleted.

Changes to this page

If the way the site handles information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. A change that matters, such as adding measurement, will be made here before it is made on the site.
